Dr. Perstrope joined the First Baptist Church staff as Senior Pastor in June 2012. He grew up south of St. Louis in Arnold, Missouri. Buddy surrendered to ministry in 1985 and began serving in children’s ministry, student ministry, and preaching. In 1991, he became a Children’s Pastor and served at two different churches. In 1996, he became a Senior Pastor and has served in three churches in Mississippi, Georgia, and Missouri. He earned his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN.
Buddy and Juli (Plymale) met and married in 1993. Buddy loves being a husband, dad, grandpa, pastor, and a passionate preacher. Juli loves serving as a homemaker and serving in ministry. Buddy and Juli have four boys: Luke (Melanie) serves as Student Pastor at First Baptist Wentzville, Joel (Kayla) serves as Finance Director in St. Charles, Micah serves as Student Pastor at CrossHaven Church in O’Fallon, and Josh serves as Worship Associate at First Baptist St. Charles.
