There is a challenge given to men to love their wives “like Christ loved the church.” Jesus set the standard on how we are to love.
God created marriage and the family. He loves it when families live in harmony. As we face challenges, experience hardships, and shed tears; or we laugh, eat together, enjoy holidays, or begin new adventures the bond that holds a family together is love.
Pause. Give thanks. Remember your blessings. Spiritual blessings. The love of God. Salvation. Forgiveness. Security in Christ. The Holy Spirit. Family blessings. Your parents. Your spouse. Children. Grandchildren. Siblings. Your church family. Physical blessings. Material blessings. Continual blessings. Eternal blessings. Pause. Give thanks.
As believers we are commanded to “walk as children of light.” Light stands out in the darkness. Light illuminates the darkness. Light makes a difference.
We are called to walk in love just like Jesus did. What an example He set for us! Think about the impact that our love would have on our church and community. Jesus said, “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:15).
You are uniquely called, instructed, gifted, and set apart for the very life God wants you to live! Whether you are in your beginning steps or on your final lap, God is very much interested in you walking His way! Let’s journey together!
This is the first sermon in the new series called “Walk His Way”. As we examine Ephesians 4-6 together, pray that God speaks to all of us about the special plans He has for our lives.
